Diana Morgan is an orchestral performer, soloist, educator, and Wm. S. Haynes Artist based in
San Diego, California. She has performed with many of Southern California’s leading
ensembles, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Santa
Barbara Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony.
Diana has collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists including John Adams, Gustavo
Dudamel, John Williams, Esperanza Spalding, Diana Krall, Josh Groban, Ben Folds, Ludwig
Göransson, David Foster, The Beach Boys, and The Who. She has appeared at festivals such as
the Ojai Music Festival, Mainly Mozart, Arizona MusicFest, Artosphere Festival, and Spoleto
Festival USA, and her playing can be heard on commercial recordings and major motion picture
projects, including playing piccolo on the ABC series Fresh Off the Boat.
As an educator, Diana is the founder of DM Flute Studio, a premier online training program
offering conservatory-level instruction for advanced flutists and piccoloists. Through a highly
structured and mentorship-driven approach, she works with students nationwide and
internationally, specializing in audition preparation, artistic development, and career strategy.
Her students have been consistently accepted into the nation’s most competitive programs,
including the Colburn Conservatory, Juilliard, USC, UCLA, Manhattan School of Music,
Carnegie Mellon University, Yale University, Northwestern University, Vanderbilt University,
and others, and have gone on to perform at major festivals and pursue professional careers.
Diana is a former faculty member of the Colburn Community School and currently adjudicates
flute auditions for the Colburn Conservatory (since 2010). She has been a guest clinician at
institutions including the California State University, Northridge, University of Maryland,
Occidental College, San Diego Flute Guild, and Idyllwild Arts Academy. Since 2010, she has
served as Executive Program Director and faculty member at Jim Walker’s Beyond the
Masterclass.
Diana holds a Graduate Certificate in Flute Performance from the University of Southern
California and a Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Her principal
teachers include Dr. Amy Hamilton, Jeanne Baxtresser, Alberto Almarza, and Jim Walker.
