Jenni Olson is an active recording artist and orchestral and chamber musician based in the Los Angeles area. As a recording artist, she can be heard on more than 100 television and film soundtracks, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Frozen 2, and Moana 2. As a studio musician, she has recorded with distinguished artists such as Barbra Streisand, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé, Neil Young, and Idina Menzel.
As a soloist, Jenni has released six albums. The Dreams of Birds, on the Delos label and distributed by Naxos, features premiere recordings by a distinguished group of composers. Her discography also includes two holiday albums, Christmas Favorites for flute and harp, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, featuring two flutes, viola, and cello, as well as two albums of standard flute repertoire.
Jenni currently serves as second flute with the Long Beach Symphony and has previously held positions with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra (second flute) and the Stockton Symphony (principal flute). She has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, Pacific Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, South Bay Chamber Orchestra, and Orchestra Santa Monica.
Jenni began her flute studies with Carole Romans and then continued her studies at California State University, Stanislaus, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music, graduating summa cum laude. She studied flute with Caryl Mae Scott and conducting with Dr. Edward Harris. She later attended the University of Southern California, studying with Jim Walker, and earned both her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees.
She is currently the Director of Woodwind Studies and flute professor at California State University, Long Beach.
